Didn't cancel my free trial – September '23
Dear FJ,
Really???? When will I learn. Yet ANOTHER failure to cancel a free trial resulting in purchasing another month or was it year of a product or service that I didn't really want.
And it is about time I review this becuase I could be traveling first class to Europe, if it weren't for this unnecessary expenditure. Toprovide some context, here are just some of the free trials that I have forgotten to cancel in recent times:
- LinkedIn premium
- Amazon prime (no upward smile icon repeated here
- Shutterstock
- Dreamstime
- AnyTime Pilates
- Audible
- Insight Timer
- SmartSheet
- Netflix
- Adobe Acrobat
- Facebook Ad Campaign
- Fitbit Premium (yes I wear a FitBit – get off the floor! It's a fashion accessory.)
- All Trails
- YouTube Premium
- Kindle unlimited
- The Brain Institiute... actually I tried to cancel this one. It turned out to be a scam and cancellation was not possible, so had to change all my credit cards.
Nothing wrong with these producst and services (except the last one), I just forgot to cancel the free trial! And I should add that I did put a reminder in my personal calendar, BUT I just don't check my personal calendar and email like I used to.
So time for alternative solutions
1. Don't sign up for free trials unless you think you want to purchase!
2. Maybe try this app: This brilliant app cancels your subscriptions for you before the free trials end (bgr.com) if it is still available.
