Don’t multi-task

It may look smart but it isn’t smart. In fact, it is diminishing your ability to think when you spread your attention too thin.

Interestingly when we multi-task, we, like computers, are actually processing one thing at  a time – but in little bits so your brain is switching back and forth between thoughts, which is quite inefficient.

One study tested people's ability to walk along a narrow path and remember a list of things.   Compared with just walking along the path or just remembering the list – both tasks were done less well when done at the same time compared to doing each task on its own. [1]

The more we multitask, the less we achieve.
